Miriam Young:
my brain can manage
Publicity and communications
Writing
press releases and advertisements is just one side of the coin. The other side
involves chatting, emailing, networking
and other inventive ways of keeping in touch.
Disciplined communications management ensures all these channels are used to
best effect.
Events planning
Diligent planning is the key to success of any event.
There is a raft of factors to consider from budgeting to logistics,
time-management, feasibility, staffing and not least, creating and delivering a
schedule that attracts and pleases the audience.
And my brain just loves doing this stuff.
Examples of events my brain has planned and managed.
Information
Knowledge is power, yet it is amazing how much
knowledge gets wasted due to inefficient storage.
If you need an extra brain on deck to make sure your information is managed
properly, try mine!
Sales teams
Back in the day when on-the-page print advertising ruled,
my brain ground the cog which turned advertising prospects into sales and copy into cash.
It was a thorough
exercise in determination, discipline, fighting fires, multi-tasking, worshiping
deadlines, pulling things out of the bag, rabbits out of hats and blood out of
stones. And enjoying success.
My brain was Advertising Sales Manager for the Rock/Metal music magazines Kerrang! and
RAW 1993-1995 and also Assistant Advertising Sales Manager for Hi-Fi Choice
magazine 1989-1993.
